San Diego performance to pay tribute to two legendary bands

San Diego is about to get a taste of two tribute bands, emulating a pair of much-loved rock groups.

The two bands coming to San Diego are Queen Nation, a tribute to Queen, and the RagDolls, a tribute to Aerosmith.

Queen Nation was formed by DMHE, a music agency based in Los Angeles, in 2004, and is the longest-running band dedicated to recreating a Queen concert, in costume, note-for-note. In 2019 Queen Nation played no fewer than 150 shows in the U.S. They were inducted into the California Music Hall of Fame in 2020, and, at the 2020 VCMAs they were voted The Best Live! Band.

The RagDolls are an all-female outfit that took their name from one of Aerosmith’s biggest hits. The RagDolls, like Queen Nation, do more than play the music of Aerosmith. They recreate the band’s performances, including wearing the same type of clothing as Aerosmith, and adopting the mannerisms associated with the artists. For instance, Susie Major, who handles vocals, has honed her recreation of Steven Tyler’s stage antics, while lead guitarist Ali Handal channels the bluesy feeling of Joe Perry.

The two bands will be at the Music Box on July 22 at 9:00 pm. Performances like this can be enhanced when organizers use poster printing to create colorful advertising.
