Zoo offers a little more this spring

San Diego residents can take advantage of extended hours and special events at the zoo, starting at the end of the month.

The San Diego Zoo is hosting ‘Play Days’. For a little over two weeks, the World Famous Zoo will have longer opening hours, special entertainment, costumed characters, and selfie spots.

The zoo will offer a wide variety of animal experiences at which zookeepers will talk to visitors and share stories about various creatures. Wildlife researchers will also be on hand to talk about the work they do with endangered animals.

For a portion of the 'Play Days', the Easter Bunny will be available for visits and photos. Guests can also listen to live music from ‘The Sand Band’ or take in a new show called ‘Dr. Dolittle’.

Visitors can snap some pictures and enter the Instagram contest. For a challenge, there is also a ‘spot the species’ game where participants can win free zoo passes.

No doubt the zoo has used brochure printers to make maps and handouts describing its attractions, amenities, and dining options. These Brochures are often given to guests on their way into the park.

A one-day zoo ticket costs $48 for adults and $38 for kids, aged three to eleven. Littles ones under three may attend free.

The 'Play Days' will take place from March 28 until April 15 from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm. The San Diego Zoo is located on 2920 Zoo Drive.
