SeaWorld in San Diego is extending its program offering free admission to veterans.
According to a September 12 news item, the park's “Waves of Honor” program provides free admission for a day for veterans and up to three of their guests. This is a substantial savings, since the current admission fee for one adult is $59.00.
In order to take part, veterans are asked to register in advance online, by going to the Waves of Honor website. They will then be asked to use the ID.me qualification process to verify their service record. Once registration is complete, the veteran can Print out an e-ticket, and take it directly to the entrance, without waiting in line at a ticket booth.
SeaWorld San Diego is one of four parks in the United States; the others are in Orlando, San Antonio, and Ohio. SeaWorld is a theme park devoted to aquatic animals, and includes a marine mammal park, an outside aquarium, and an oceanarium. The Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, which does research on marine issues, is adjacent to the park.
The program now runs through December 31, when previously it was scheduled to expire on Veterans Day. Veterans must obtain their tickets and use them by the end of the year.
SeaWorld officials might consider working with a banner printing company to create a banner for the entrance, welcoming veterans and thanking them for their service.
