Tasty event ahead in San Diego

A day for celebrating the culture of the Barrio Logan neighborhood is on the schedule in San Diego.

Barrio Logan nestles under the east end of the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge and covers about 1,000 acres. More than half the land comprising the barrio is covered by Naval Station San Diego and the Port of San Diego. The barrio is one of the city’s most culturally vibrant and oldest neighborhoods. The upcoming “Celebrating Barrio Logan!” event will allow everyone to discover this area.

Celebrating Barrio Logan! is a sips, food, and beer crawl through the neighborhood, ending with an afterparty to be held at La Davina Restaurant and Bar. Drinks and food samples will be available from participating establishments, which will give people doing the crawl a taste of the food available in the barrio, as well as a chance to learn more about the neighborhood.

Participating establishments currently include Birria 664, Oi Asian Fusion, Church of Herbalism, El Carrito Restaurant, Ryan’s Brothers Coffee, Casa Xovi in the ArtHub, Chikita Café, Maxa, Tucumbo Ice Cream, Crab City, Little Caesars Pizza, Karina’s Seafood, Pho Bo, Lia’s Lumpia, Maggie’s Café, U4rik Tasting Room, and Los Chilaquiles.

The festival is scheduled for February 4, from 12:30 pm until 4:00 pm. Participants may pick up their tasting passes at Attitude Brewery. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create maps of participating venues to help participants find their way during the crawl.
