Janet Jackson and Ludacris are slated to appear at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, a suburb about seven miles from downtown San Diego, easily accessible by car and public transportation.
The youngest of the famous Jackson siblings, Janet dropped her debut self-titled album in 1982, and followed it up with “Dream Street” in 1984. Her third album, “Control,” released in 1986, was where she hit the big time, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and being certified 5X Platinum by the RIAA. She has continued a hugely successful career ever since and is noted for her socially conscious and innovative work. A review notes:

Ludacris, who was born Christopher Bridges, is a rapper and actor who began his career as a DJ at a radio station in Atlanta. He has released nine studio albums, and has earned acting credits with roles in “Fred Claus,” “Crash,” and “2 Fast 2 Furious.”
