The California Honeydropps formed in Oakland, California, and are a retro-soul band that has toured with stars like Buddy Guy, and B.B. King. The band comprises talented artists who are acknowledged virtuosos, led by frontman Lech Wierzynski and Benjamin Malament on drums.
The current lineup features bassist Beaumont Beaullieu, Lorenzo Loera on guitar and keyboards, and saxophonist Yanos “Johnny Bones” Lustig. The group is often accompanied by Miles Lyons on sousaphone/trombone, Leon Cotter on clarinet and sax, and trombonist Oliver Tuttle.
The band has become famous for its shows, which are entirely improvisational, so each performance is different. Their unusual sound has been streamed over 200 million times, and has been featured in film and television productions including “Black-ish,” “Dead To Me,” and more. A Rolling Stone review says:

The Dip is a rhythm, funk, and blues band created in 2013 by University of Washington music students in 2013. The band blends a three-part horn section with typical pop instruments. A review notes:
“The Dip instills in me an irresistible desire to shake my hips and move my body.”
