DogFest San Diego is a dog-friendly, human-family-friendly day to benefit Canine Companions. DogFest San Diego wants to give attendees a great experience while they also raise awareness of Canine Companions, as well as raising money to support the organization.
Canine Companions is a nationwide organization that provides highly trained service dogs, plus any additional services, to qualified recipients at no charge. The company was founded in 1975, and provides service dogs to veterans, children, and adults with disabilities.
The day includes dog-friendly contests and activities that will challenge owners as well as their dogs, including a dog costume contest, and an obstacle course. The planned entertainment is suitable for families and includes games, inflatable play areas, face painting, and live music.
Food booths and vendors will both be on hand offering delicious treats as well as pet merchandise. Finally, a beer garden will host both wineries and breweries to give DogFest attendees a chance to sample local brews and vintages.
DogFest San Diego is scheduled for September 10, from 12.00 pm until 4.00 pm, at Liberty Station, where attendees can chat with representative from Canine Companions.
