Halloween block party set for San Diego

San Diego fun-seekers are gearing up for the party to end all Halloween parties: the 14th Annual Dos XX Monster Bash taking place tonight.

The party starts at 6:00 pm and ends at midnight. The city's East Village and Gaslamp Quarter areas will be overrun with ghouls, vampires, and other wanderers looking for a good time.

The party will feature live music as well as DJs, and a costume contest sponsored by the Spirit Halloween chain, will be held. The winner voted to have the best costume will go home with a $5,000 prize.

Five separate areas will be devoted to entertainment: the Resurrection main stage; the Wicked Woodlands; the Freak Show; the Dos Equis Masquerade Stage; and the VIP Villain District, each with its own lineup. In addition, more than 20 restaurants throughout the Gaslamp Quarter will offer Monster Bash ticket holders special prices. There will also be a designated driver shuttle service available.

Tickets for those joining in the fun today will cost $45, having been available at reduced prices for those who snapped up their places earlier in the month. Tickets are available on the event website.

Event organizers could work with a brochure printing company to create a booklet showing the location of the stages, restaurants, bars and other participating venues, so that everyone has a frightfully good time.
