Festive event lights up San Diego

Every year, San Diego celebrates Christmas with a family-friendly event that has been a tradition for years.

Once known as “Christmas on the Prado,” the upcoming December Nights San Diego is a two-night party in Balboa Park that is packed full of fun things to do. The park will be crowded, so people should be prepared to wait on occasion.

One of the biggest draws of the event is the fact that all museums in the park offer free admission for these two nights. There are 17 museums in Balboa Park, including the San Diego Museum of Art, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, the San Diego Air and Space Museum, and the San Diego Natural History Museum. The latter is very popular, especially its fossil collections.

Live performances are a vital part of December Nights. Dozens of shows take place during the event, as dancers from all over the world share their traditional dances with festival-goers.

Food is another big part of the event and, again, has a wide variety on offer. Vendors and food trucks will be serving food from their cultures, so foodies can sample cuisine from around the globe. Crafters will also be present, with handcrafted items that reflect their culture.

The park will be lit with thousands of lights, guaranteeing a magical setting. December Nights San Diego will take place December 1 and 2, throughout Balboa Park. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create maps for attendees.
