Event honors pets and military

A popular event paying tribute to both military personnel and pets is on the schedule for San Diego.

The McBeth Foundation is presenting Traci’s Paws 6th Annual Unleash the Holiday Cheer event, which raises awareness of pet adoption opportunities and also shows appreciation for the military. Those military and veterans’ families who are given approval to adopt a pet will have the fees sponsored.

Attendees at the event, which was voted the city’s favorite in 2020, will enjoy musical performances, photos with Santa (including both families and their pets), and gifts from the Jolly Old Elf himself.

The Holiday Vendor Village will be available for those who want to do some holiday shopping and discounts will be available to military personnel. There will be craft activities for both adults and children in Santa’s Workshop, which will comply with COVID safety policies to protect everyone. In order for attendees to find various vendors and when performances are scheduled, handouts can be developed using flyer printing.

Bryan, a talented face painter, will be on hand, and pets can be entered in their own costume contest. Gifts will be given to military personnel as well as veterans, and everyone in their immediate family who comes to the event.

Tickets are available for both civilians and military personnel; however, military members will be asked for their government ID. Since the event is a fundraiser for Traci’s Paws programs, no refunds will be given.
