People from all over northern California will soon be able to let freedom ring and boom as the City of Redding presents its Freedom Festival – an evening of the traditional Fourth of July four ‘Fs’ – family, fun, food, and fireworks.
Northern California’s largest fireworks display is being funded by the McConnell Foundation – a move that began as a gift given to the city of Redding by Leah McConell. The spectacular $90,000 display has turned into a hugely popular annual event appreciated and anticipated by the entire community.
The show’s organizers advise the public to arrive early in order to find parking spaces and good seating for the fireworks. Nothing is more colorful than fireworks for photo ops for later poster printing.
The Freedom Festival is actually the final event of Celebrate 10, which is a two-week celebration of the Sundial Bridge’s 10th anniversary. Other events marking the historic construction project during Celebrate 10 will include Bandaloop and music by the North State Symphony, Summer Solstice activities, and the Sundial Music festival. Most of the celebrations will be free to the public.
The Freedom Festival will be held on July 4th at the Redding Civic Auditorium, 700 Auditorium Drive in Redding. Food and beverage venders will available, opening shop at 5pm. The live entertainment begins at 7:30pm, while fireworks commence at 10pm.
