It is time once again for all Redding locals to put on those dancing shoes and get ready for the 6th annual Rising Star Gala.
CH2M Hill is hosting an evening of fun and dancing to provide scholarships for local aspiring scientists and engineers through the Schreder Planetarium, the Whiskeytown Environmental School, and the Clair Hill Student Scholarship Fund.
Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy games, bid for items in both a live and a silent auction and dance to the ‘All of the Above’ brass band. The gala should provide opportunities for promoters to get pictures that demonstrate their company’s community commitment for later poster printing. Last year’s event garnered almost $22,000, bringing the total contributions over the last five years to more than $120,000. The money has helped more than 2,200 children in the community.
The Schreder Planetarium seats around 70 viewers and has a 10-meter projection dome. The Clair Hill Scholarship Fund has been established to provide money for California students to pursue education in water resource-related fields. The Whiskeytown Enviromental School is a camp facility outside of Redding maintained by the National Park Service. Its educational programs are directed by the Shasta County Office of Education.
The gala will be held Saturday, October 25, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, 844 Sundial Bridge Dr., Redding.
