Event tackles employee mental health
An organization concerned with employees' mental health is arranging a gathering to talk about how a certain illness might impact the workers.
The event will feature a presentation called “Borderline Personality Disorder: Where Angels Fear to Tread.” Dr. Sarah Lyndon, who serves as the DBT Center’s Clinical Director, and Nora Josephson are the two professionals who will guide this session. Details about talks like this can be shared using brochure printing.
The main goal of the talk is to offer comprehension of borderline personality disorder (BPD), giving statistics related to BPD and introducing dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which acts as one possible treatment for this condition. Attendees will learn about the strategies and theories behind DBT, along with skills from its four modules – being conscious, handling distress, controlling feelings, and improving relationships.
More details about membership can be found at the website of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA). This event is an opportunity for professionals who want to increase their understanding of BPD and DBT, as well as make connections with others in this area of work.
The gathering acts as a learning and networking occasion for experts. People who are not members must pay $25, students pay $15 and EAPA members get to attend for free. RSVP is suggested.
The Orange County EAPA will host its meeting on Friday, August 2 at the Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange, running from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
