Music will be in the air in Montebello as Latin artists share their talent.
The Quiet Cannon Conference & Event Center will host the Latin Summit Festival, which brings together some of the best Latin bands playing today. The roster includes TIERRA, MALO, Andy Vargas, Gato Babalou, Balance, MKY, and Pepe Marquez. DJ Cheatos will be on hand to keep things moving.
Tierra is from Los Angeles and is a Latin R&B group. They first got together in 1972, and is the first Latino band to have four songs make it to the national chart.
Malo is based in San Francisco and is known for its blend of blues, jazz, rock, and Latino music. One of the early leaders of the group was Jorge Santana, the brother of the legendary Carlos Santana.
Since 2000, Andy Vargas has been the lead vocalist of Santana. He has collaborated with such artists as Beyonce, The Black-Eyed Peas, and Enrique Iglesias. He has written and recorded R&B Soul, Latin funk, and Pop music.
Pepe Maquez is based in Santa Barbara and is a Latin soul and R&B singer who has been performing professionally for 35 years. Critics say his voice has hints of Rocky Padilla, Marvin Gaye, and Smokey Robinson but remains entirely his own.
The festival is scheduled for August 10 at 7.00 pm. When organizers set up events like this, they can work with printers who use poster printing to create advertising specific to the area.
