A golfing event is back on the schedule in Pico Rivera, a short distance from Montebello.
The Latina Golfers outing is for participants of all skill levels, but participants must have their own clubs, and have played at a golf course before taking part in this activity.
The Latina Golfers Association wants to introduce women to the sport for their personal enjoyment as well as professional development. The Association teaches women how they can use golf as a tool for business, as many important connections are made in informal settings. The Association ensures that its tournaments are non-intimidating, fun, and welcoming to women.
The Association holds tournaments throughout Southern California, visiting those golf courses that are appropriate for golfers at the beginning level. Organizers say that in future, they also hope to hold workshops about golf etiquette.
The outing is March 16, at the Pica Rivera Golf Club, from 12.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Tee time on the nine-hole course is 1.00 pm, leaving an hour for meeting, networking, and catching up. Many participants will have attended similar events in the past and know one another.
The fee is $30, and pre-payment is required. Pull carts are available for rental at an additional charge. Golfers are welcome to bring their own. No refunds will be given unless the entire event is cancelled by the organizer. When events like this are planned, organizers will often work with poster printing to advertise them.
