A popular reggaeton and salsa band will perform soon in Montebello.
Diego y su Grupo Gale are a crowd-pleasing reggaeton and salsa band known for their catchy sound and high energy. Diego Galé is the founder of the group, which has achieved recognition throughout the Latin music scene. Global audiences have responded to their blend of passionate lyrics and Latin rhythms, whether they are playing salsa or reggaeton.
Diego Galé is a native of Medellín, Colombia, who grew up listening to his father sing. He enjoyed the music of the Caribbean, and was attracted to the sound of salsa, which would become his passion. He also enjoyed the tropical and Afro-Cuban music of Colombia, which led him to create his own style.
He formed his own group in 1989 when he was 21, and began his recording career. His first effort was “Frivolo,” which he recorded for Codisdcos, an international label. Gabino Pampini, a noted Panamanian singer, appeared on this album, singing “Mi Vecina,” written by Diego Galé. The song was a hit.
Since then, Galé has worked with distinguished groups, singers, and musicians such as Big Band de Medellín, Juan Carlos Coronel, Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, and many others. He has also worked as a music producer for numerous artists.
