Two health organizations are teaming up for an event in Montebello.
Healing California and A New Way of Life are planning a health fair for Montebello. At the fair, attendees will be able to access vision and dental services free of charge. People will have access to vision care including eye exams and prescription glasses. Dental services available will include extractions, fillings, cleanings, x-rays, and dental exams.
Healing California, a community-based organization, provides no-cost quality vision, medical, and dental care to those in need throughout California. Healing California was founded to meet the needs of residents. The organization notes that over 80,000 people go to an emergency room in a year because they have dental problems that could be prevented, and that nearly four million people lack even the most basic dental and vision care. It is also concerned about over 10,000 homeless veterans. The organization was founded to fill the gaps in the system. Its services are free, its doctors and dentists are volunteers, and it is supported by donations.
The health fair is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at 420 Date Street in Montebello, from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm. Service will be first come, first served. Although the event is free, tickets are being sold. However, an RSVP does not guarantee a spot. Organizers of this type of event often use flyer printing to create handouts to advertise the clinic to people in the local area.
