Montebello celebrates its heritage
An annual event in Montebello will celebrate the city itself.
The 2023 Heritage Festival will feature craft vendors, cultural performances, games, food, carnival rides, a beer garden, live entertainment, artisan vendors, and more. There is so much going on, the party itself will last for three days. Some of the activities and performers are still being lined up, but it’s already known that one of the highlights is the annual Montebello Heritage 5K & 10K Run, which takes place along Whittier Boulevard.
The 5K and 10K both take place on the same day and at the same time. The course is one of Southern California’s fastest and is a Certified USA Track and Field course. The start and finish lines are both on Whittier Boulevard, and the 5K course takes runners over Whittier and Montebello Boulevards between 4th Street, Maple, and Beverly. The 10K runners will follow the same course, but will run the loop twice.
The 2023 Heritage Festival is scheduled for October 6, 7, and 8, with the most activities taking place in Montebello City Park on West Whittier Boulevard. The races are on October 8, from 8.00am until 10.00am, starting at Montebello City Park. The fee for both is $25.00, and participants will receive a medal and shirt. A taco truck will be available, and the Beer Garden opens at 9.00am. Organizers of outdoor events like this can use banner printing to create sturdy markers for the course.
