Tribute to Journey in Long Beach

Fans of classic groups may never have seen them in person, and only know the music from videos and recordings. That is where tribute bands come in, and now one is on the way to Long Beach.

Wheel In The Sky is a tribute band for Journey and takes its name from the original group’s 1978 hit. “Wheel in the Sky” was the first Journey song to reach the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it rose to No. 57. Journey got together in 1973 in San Francisco, comprised of musicians who had been with Frumious Bandersnatch and Santana. They were most successful in the period 1978-1987, with vocalist Steve Perry as frontman, when they released hits like “Don’t Stop Believin,” and “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.”

Wheel In The Sky comprises professional musicians who have been members of other outfits such as Dokken, David Lee Roth, Great White, and more. They are based in Los Angeles and have appeared across the country, providing audiences with the closest they can get to seeing the original band. Wheel In The Sky is currently the longest-running tribute band to Journey in the nation. To provide publicity for events like this, poster printing is a great choice.

Wheel In The Sky will be at Long Beach’s Signal Hill Park on July 21 at 6.30 pm, as part of the Summer Concerts series. They plan to play two 45-minute sets.
