The City of Glendale will be bringing back its Summer Concerts series this July with weekly shows in two locations featuring area artists.
There will be seven weeks of shows at Verdugo Park, beginning with tribute band Flux Capacitors playing covers of hits from the 1980s to the 2000s. Other musical performers include the Verdugo Swing Society, Greg Hosharian & the Armenian Pops Ensemble, and Maybe I’m Amazed, a Paul McCartney tribute act. Two concerts will also include a Children’s Entrepreneur Market, where young people can try their hand at creating and running their own small business. In addition to the musical performances, there will be a Theater at the Park event with Shakespeare by the Sea’s production of As You Like It.
The Brand Library & Art Center will also be hosting live music weekly on its back lawn, with an emphasis on eclectic instrumental acts. The lineup includes the Katja Rieckerman Group, Ted Falcon and the Forrozeiros, and Rose’s Pawn Shop. The outdoor concerts will be free to attend, with listeners welcome to bring a chair or blanket as well as their own refreshments. Municipalities often host concert series like this to highlight local artists and provide outdoor activities, with flyer printing and social media common promotional methods.
Glendale’s Summer Concert Series will take place every Wednesday at Verdugo Park from July 2 to August 13, and every Friday at Brand Library & Art Center from July 11 to August 29.
