A Glendale bookstore will be hosting a fan event for the popular Wings of Fire series of children’s Books, including a special announcement by the author.
The event, called the Fanwing Fest, will offer activities and a chance for young readers to meet other dragon enthusiasts.
The fan fest will feature activities throughout, as well as a discount for all of the dozens of Books in the series, and pre-orders for the upcoming titles. There will also be special edition Books available for purchase and pre-order. The series has been a hit with middle-age and young adult readers, spending over 200 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, with 15 core Books in addition to a number of spin-offs and a series of graphic novel adaptations.
Activities will include a dragon-themed scavenger hunt, in addition to crafts and activity pages. Young visitors can make their own personal hybrid dragons. There will also be a special video announcement by series author Tui T. Sutherland. Book publishers and authors often use events like this to raise awareness of their series and reward fans, whether they be bestsellers or emerging artists self-publishing through printing services.
The Fanwing Fest event will take place on the afternoon of Friday, August 8 at Once Upon A Time Bookstore in Glendale. It starts at 4:00 pm.
