Live radio show headed to Glendale

NPR radio show and podcast Circle Round will be holding a live recording in Glendale this January, offering a unique family-friendly experience.

The stage show will feature the husband-and-wife team of host Rebecca Sheir and musical composer Eric Shimelon, along with local actors and musicians. The cast will vocally act out and tell child-friendly stories, with a focus on values of generosity and persistence. The crew will be recording two episodes of the show, which will be released as podcasts as well as syndicated on public radio stations across America.

The event will also have merchandise for sale, including the award-winning picture book series based on stories told during the show. Members of the Circle Round Club can attend a free book signing and meet-and-greet with Sheir and Shimelon. Promotional material for the show emphasizes that it is

“Created and produced by parents of young children, WBUR’s Circle Round adapts diverse folktales from around the world into enchanting audio plays for kids ages 3-103.”

Circle Round originates from WBUR in Boston but tours around the country with live tapings. TV and radio shows often hold public tapings for fresh live audience interaction, often promoting the shows through poster printing and local stations.

The Glendale taping of Circle Round will take place on the afternoon of January 18, 2026 at the Glendale Performing Arts Center.
