The event will feature question and answer seminars featuring stars of action cinema as well as real-life martial artists. Kickboxing legends Benny “The Jet” Urqiduez and Don “The Dragon Wilson” will be leading seminars, while Lady Lallaine Reed will have an instructional in tai chi. Each ticket buyer can select four different seminars.
Dragonfest will also include cultural performances on stage throughout the event, including Chinese lion dancing, Philippine Kulintang music performed by Ube Arte, and Japanese taiko drumming. There will also be a special tribute to martial-arts film legend Chuck Norris. The convention floor will feature hundreds of booths offering products and services dedicated to martial arts enthusiasts.
The festival is hosted by Glendale’s own Martial Arts History Museum and proceeds from the festival will go towards supporting the museum and its mission. Conventions and festivals like this one often use methods like poster printing and social media to attract attendees from near and far. Dragonfest says that its goal is to create cultural understanding:
“At its heart, the event acts as a bridge of understanding, inviting the community to move beyond the surface of martial arts and immerse themselves in the living soul of these ancient traditions.”
The 2026 Dragonfest will take place at the Glendale Civic Auditorium on August 1.
