The City of Glendale will be holding its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony this December, marking the festive season while contributing to a good cause.
The event is hosted by the City’s Community Services & Parks Department and will feature the official lighting of a large holiday tree outside City Hall. Last year’s tree stood 32 feet tall with over 500 ornaments and 800 lights, and this year’s will look to be a similar or even greater height. There will be special performances by local artists. Children can also meet with Santa Claus and have their pictures taken.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will also benefit the Cram-A-Classic Toy Drive. The Drive, hosted by the Glendale Fire Department and ABC7, encourages people to bring an unwrapped toy to the collection station at the event, which is hoping to fill a vintage fire truck with toys. The toys will be distributed to underprivileged children in the Glendale area. This collection will follow one at the Montrose Shopping Centre on November 28.
This will be the 40th edition of the annual holiday tradition in Glendale, which often incorporates local school bands and youth groups. The city uses flyer printing and social media to help reach the community and welcome them to the event.
The 2025 Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at Glendale City Hall on December 3, with attendance and parking free.
