Glendale race to tackle mountains

The Verdugo Mountains 10k Trail Run & Hike will return to Glendale this May, challenging residents to conquer the mountains in their backyard.

The course will traverse over six miles and 1600 feet of elevation, reaching its highest point at 2536 feet above sea level. Race material promises spectacular view of the LA Basin, Pacific Ocean, and San Fernando Valley along the way. Participants can also choose to hike the course at their own pace. The run will be timed through a chip, so participants can look to beat their past speed. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers, and everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative medal.

Past editions have featured a pancake breakfast at the finish line. All runners and hikers will receive a packet before the race. Runs like this often offer Promotional Products such as T-Shirts and medals to give participants a memento of the event. The race is organized by the City of Glendale’s Community Services & Parks Department, with funds raised through registration fees going towards the Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation. It is supported by the efforts of volunteers and community sponsors.

The 2025 Verdugo Mountains 10k Trail Run & Hike is set for the morning of May 4, with the run starting in Brand Park in Glendale.
