CSUF will appoint an interim president to run the university while a nationwide search for his replacement is conducted. The university’s policy states that Interim Chancellor Jolene Koester, with help from Wenda Fong, who is the chair of the board, will put together a committee to find the next president. The committee will be made up of community and campus stakeholders, and will no doubt be looking at plenty of Business Cards and résumés over the coming months.
Koester put out a statement where she said:
“While president of California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) and throughout his service as general counsel for the California State University (CSU), Fram Virjee has been the epitome of a servant leader, displaying an infectious passion to improve opportunities for students.”
Framroze Virjee started his career as an attorney and took on the role of president of CSUF in 2018. He was able to identify with CSU’s ethos since he came from an immigrant family and was the first generation of his family to attend college. Throughout his tenure, Virjee worked to make sure that students were able to attend and make the most of their time at university, regardless of their background.
Fullerton currently has the highest enrollment numbers out of all of the CSU campuses.
