Fullerton is hosting a 5K race this January.
Beginning at Fullerton High School, the 5-kilometer race offers scenic views for both beginners and more experienced runners.
The aim of the event is to not only foster friendly competition, but also to encourage fitness, entertainment and a sense of community.
The event begins at the high school, then heads south on North Lemon Street. The route then turns west along East Chapman Avenue, then turns north along North Pomona Avenue. After that, participants will arrive at the school campus once again, running along the northern perimeter of the high school track before heading east on Nutwood Street.
From there, the race makes several twists and turns throughout the Fullerton College campus, including along a baseball field and running track, before the event finally ends where it began, at Fullerton High School.
With a mixed terrain and an elevation change of 36 feet, the course runs approximately 3 miles throughout its downtown Fullerton route. Participants are asked to be mindful of parking spaces for local residents and to follow all Signs for rights of way when running.
Running events like this may choose to use poster printing to create route maps, informational signs and promotional material.
The Fullerton 5K is happening on January 25th at 8 am at the Fullerton High School Track and Field at 201 E Chapman Ave in Fullerton.
