Fullerton’s Craig Regional Park will host a screening of Freakier Friday this June.
As part of OC Parks Sunset Cinema Series, the screening is one of 12 free movies playing at various regional parks this summer, through the end of August. The all-ages events include meet-and-greets with film characters, free parking and admission, local food and beverage vendors, photo events and games featuring a DJ.
Released in 2025, Freakier Friday is the legacy sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday, with returning stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. While the first film involved the mother and daughter duo switching consciousnesses, this new installment has the supernatural mind-swap becoming a veritable game of musical chairs, this time adding the two children of Lohan’s Anna into the mix.
While the plot may sound convoluted, it was an enjoyable enough ride for audiences to get on board. The film grossed more than $150 million at the worldwide box office, making more than triple its production budget of $42 million.
The modern franchise is based on the original Freaky Friday film from 1976, starring a young Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris. A TV movie remake of Freaky Friday was also released in 1995, starring Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffmann.
