Registration for these programs is currently available throughout the summer season. Details of programs such as this one are easy to share with interested parties using brochure printing.
An example of such a program is the Biomanufacturing Technician Program, commencing on August 29. Debbie Vengco, the director of marketing and enrollment management for extension and international programs, mentioned that the program is particularly suitable for students from both college and high school with a solid STEM foundation. She went on to say:
“It’s a great time to get ahead in the workplace while others may be on vacation. We created this program to address the need for entry-level biomanufacturing technicians in Southern California.”
Similar to numerous skill-oriented extension modules, this program originated from a collaboration between the university and local businesses, driven by the demand for competent professionals in the field. According to Vengco, a consortium was established, consisting of three campuses of California State University (Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Fullerton), along with Biocom California Institute. This collaboration enables the provision of workforce development resources and courses to over 1,700 participating companies from all over the state.
