Friends of Fullerton College Foundation will be hosting a conference on the effects of the digital age on how business is conducted.
The conference begins at 9:30 AM with a keynote by Orly Lobel. Known for "The Equality Machine" and "Talent Wants to Be Free," Lobel has earned accolades including the Gold Medal Axiom Best Business Books and the Independent Publisher’s Award. Her insights challenge perceptions of human capital, fostering competitiveness and creativity.
At 10:00 AM, Rommel Hidalgo, California State University, Fullerton’s Vice President for Information Technology, explores "The Ghost of Business Future: 5 Technologies Changing Our Lives." Hidalgo pioneered the Guam Open Research & Education eXchange and returned as Associate VP of IT/Innovation to the College of Business and Economics.
Moving on to 10:30 AM, Stephanie L Smith, Digital & Social Media Supervisor at NASA JPL, discusses "The Future of Social Media." With a decade at NASA-JPL, Smith manages the social media team behind Curiosity, the Mars rover's tweets, earning two Emmys and seven Webby Awards.
The morning concludes at 11 AM with "Robots Are Coming: The Third Wave of Automation in America" by Fullerton College, exploring robotic drones' impact. Lunch, by Sodexo, includes a tech showcase.
Noon features the "Tech Show & Tell Lunch" with experiences in VR, robots, and 3D printing. At 1:15 PM, a Social Enterprise Panel, led by Senator Josh Newman, explores innovative companies and nonprofits in social entrepreneurship.
