Committee returns to see fruits of $10k donation

The committee responsible for organizing the Class of '68 reunion recently visited the campus to view the new outdoor furniture purchased using donations totaling almost $10,000.

At the informal gathering in Fullerton, Principal Weinreich was introduced to the committee members in Room 4, after which he took the graduates on a tour of all the new seating areas. The Sunny Hills Class of 1968 dedicated over a year and two months to raise funds and initiate improvements on their alma mater's campus. A reunion committee made of 12 members managed to raise more than $9,500 in eight months. Print shops can be used to create plaques for new installations like this.

All proceeds were used to purchase and install six benches in front of the Lyceum and three other tables. These additions have been available for students to use since early February. After being informed about the completion of the project, committee members coordinated with Principal Weinreich to take a look at the outdoor furniture on Thursday, March 9th.

Brad Rawlins, one of the people who made the trip to see the furniture, stated that:

“Giving back is always good. We will forever be grateful for the administration of both the past and current for steering us through life the way they did.”

Rawlins and Simonian do not currently have any plans for a long-term project at the school, but they are eager to keep the possibility open for the future.
