Fullerton’s Muckenthaler Cultural Center will host the singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno for a concert this spring.
Moreno has released eight albums and shared the stage with a number of other famous artists across the globe, include the Buena Vista Social Club, Van Dyke Parks, Jackson Brown, Tracy Chapman, Taj Mahal, Ani DiFranco, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Hugh Laurie and the Copper Bottom Band, Los Lobos, Punch Brothers, David Gray, Chris Thile, Calexico, Nickel Creek and others.
The Guatemala native is also a producer of her own music, winning a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Recently, she also won her first U.S. Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for the folk-oriented work X Mi (Vol. 1) after numerous nominations over the years. In December 2024, the president of Guatemala honored her with a Presidential Order for her musical and cultural contributions.
Moreno is now based in Los Angeles and has performed at some of the biggest venues across the nation, including at The Kennedy Center and the Lincoln Center.
Actor Oscar Isaac also performed with Moreno on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, singing a song together from the Grammy-winning album.
