Art exhibit explores Chicano culture

The Chicano Art Exhibit: A Chicano Hip-Hop Story will be bringing Chicano culture to Fullerton this summer.

Chicano art, known for not holding back when it comes to social and political messages, gets a modern voice through hip-hop. The exhibit shows artwork that mixes classic Forms of Chicano art such as murals or graffiti with the rough style seen in hip-hop culture. Printing services can be enlisted to help with setting up a gallery at a public event.

The exhibit will present live shows and activities where visitors can interact with the artists and their work. These parts are created to promote a better comprehension of the art Forms and foster conversational exchange on how art affects community-building and identity formation. People who take part in these live events can feel the energetic nature of Chicano hip-hop art firsthand.

There will also be panels and lectures that present the history of Chicano art and academic views on its development. The goal of these discussions is to enhance the understanding of historical factors that have influenced Chicano art, as well as emphasize how hip-hop has turned into an important method for showing cultural and political viewpoints from the perspective of Mexican Americans.

The Chicano Art Exhibit: A Chicano Hip-Hop Story is scheduled for Sunday, June 9th at 2461 E. Orangethorpe Ave. in Fullerton.
