The Fullerton Train Museum is hosting a special event for adults with disabilities.
The Bridge to Belonging event is designed to help adults with disabilities form community bonds over a shared love of trains.
The Fullerton Train Museum includes a collection of railcars from a historic period in the region, maintained as fully serviceable long after they have been officially retired. The museum is operated by the Southern California Railway Plaza Association, a non-profit organization focused on education.
A leader for the event will be at the train museum wearing a T-shirt with the Bridge to Belonging logo, and will be available to help guide visitors or answer questions.
Bridge to Belonging is organized by Compass, which helps adults with developmental disabilities live in their own homes through support. Staff members educate, offer companionship, and help clients with their day-to-day needs.
The Bridge to Belonging program includes in-person and virtual events held throughout California, including one focused on fitness held earlier this summer, and another event with an emphasis on creating art. Bingo and a scavenger hunt are also on the schedule.
Museum events like this may choose to use flyer printing to display information for exhibits or advertise special programming.
