Welcoming spring in Escondido

A major festival will return to Escondido to welcome spring to the city.

The Escondido Street Festival is now 30 years old, and once again will take place in Downtown Escondido, on Grand Avenue between Juniper Street and Escondido Boulevard. Since 1989, the festival has drawn thousands of attendees, and in 2022, it was taken over by the Escondido Downtown Business Association, who made significant changes. The improvements drew even more people, and records suggest this is now the City’s largest event.

The festival has the format of a traditional street fair, but the names of the bands and other live entertainers have not yet been released, however, dozens of vendors are signed up.

Art, craft, and retail vendors will be on hand with items such as pet clothing, toys, home décor, teas, hats, purses, candles, soap, and many other hand-crafted items.

Vendors will be on hand with cakes, shaved ice, coffee, vegan and vegetarian options, funnel cakes, hot sauce, and more. National cuisines from the U.S., Italy, China, Hawaii, Africa, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, and more will be available.

Information and service booths include areas for voter registration, banking, wellness, insurance, pet services, and much more.

The Street Festival is scheduled for May 19, from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm. When events this size are planned, organizers can use flyer printing to create maps of vendors’ locations for attendees.
