Volunteers sought for Escondido Creek clean up

The Escondido Creek watershed is home to a diverse community of plants and animals, and they are in need of a helping hand. Volunteers can play an important role in the overall environmental health of the area, and they are several projects planned for this summer that can use their assistance.

Escondido Creek Conservancy has organized dates in July, August, and September when volunteers can get involved in some hands-on projects at locations throughout North County. Many will be along the banks of the portion of the creek that runs through Elfin Forest, but there will be other spots on the list as well.

The volunteers will be asked to lend a hand with a variety of tasks. They may be asked to fix trails, remove invasive plants, and ensure that native ones, as well as the animals that depend on them, will have both living space, food, and a place to raise a family.

While all ages are encouraged to be a part of these stewardship projects, minors will need to be accompanied by an adult. The volunteers will need to bring strong shoes, a hat, water, sunscreen and long pants. Liability Forms and other waivers for an event like this can be prepared by a company that prints Letterheads and other business Stationery.

The Escondido Creek Conservancy will be hosting these grassroots environmental action sessions on July 13, August 10, and September 14. The exact locations for the activities will be released at a later date.
