Those making plans for the fall in Escondido are invited to mark their Calendars now for the Grape Day Discovery Festival.
The event, which will be hosted by the Escondido History Center, will have a variety of activities for young and old alike, and its organizers have planned for it to be bigger and better than ever before.
A beer and wine garden will be set up where the public can sample local wines while they enjoy musical and performing talent from their community. There will also be a pie-eating contest, and an assortment of grape products, ranging from jellies and jams to chocolate dipped grapes, will be available for purchase.
To help festivalgoers express their artistic side, a section of the park will be set aside for an interactive art experience. Both adults and kids alike can experiment with different activities such as archeology, pottery making, and more. Area artisans will be on hand, and there will be drawing contests, a petting zoo, and demonstrations just for the younger set.
