One of the most iconic figures in the history of American automobiles will be celebrated at an upcoming car show in Escondido.
The Shelby/Ford/AMC Car Show is in its fifth year, and is a tribute to the vehicles created and designed by the legendary Carroll Shelby.
Shelby was influential in turning southern California into a sports car hotbed, when he created the Shelby Cobra in 1962. His vision was to create an affordable sports car with European design and handling with a reliable, American engine. His cars were successful worldwide on race tracks and in the marketplace. The Cobra was manufactured in southern California.
Shelby also partnered with Ford on its 1960s Mustangs and later with AMC, before passing away in 2012.
All three incarnations of Shelby's career will be featured in the car show. Car fans can see original Cobras, Shelby Mustangs, and AMCs. The show also welcomes all other types of Ford vehicles.
The show's main sponsor is the SoCal Shelby American Automobile Club and JBA Speed Shop. Car shows such as this can use local printing services for banner printing and flyer printing.
Registration is $30. Money from the fees goes to the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, an organization that helps American war veterans.
The fifth annual Shelby/Ford/AMC Car Show is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 27 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Grape Day Park, 321 North Broadway in Escondido.
