Escondido fishermen and women are invited to take part in this year’s 19th annual Kiwanis Dixon Lake Trout Derby, which is now just over a month away.
The event takes place at Dixon Lake, which is fully stocked with rainbow trout, and there will be prizes offered in both adult and junior categories. Those under the age of seven can enjoy trying their luck in the free kiddie pond, which will be open from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and then from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Those who take part will be eligible to win a variety of prizes furnished by Turner outdoors, including the grand prize of a trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. The vacation includes a stay of eight days and seven nights at the Sirena Del Mar.
No California fishing permits are required to take part in the derby, but a fishing permit for the park will be needed. Along with the fishing, there will be a pancake breakfast, as well as barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs.
Proceeds from the event will be used by the Hidden Valley Kiwanis Club to help support its charitable activities. Flyers can be used to effectively promote events such as this throughout the surrounding community.
The Charity Trout Derby will take place at Lake Dixon, which is located at 1700 La Honda Drive in Escondido. It is scheduled for April 23 and 24, starting at 6:00 am on both days. Get a Free Quote for Flyers
