A real-world event based on a hugely popular media franchise of video games, trading cards, films, and animated series is coming to Escondido.
Pokémon GO Fest 2024 is taking place worldwide, in major cities and small towns. In Escondido, fans can enjoy the fun at Kit Carson Park. The Pokémon empire started when Game Freak developed two role playing games from an original concept by Satoshi Tajiri, its founder. The first game was released in 1996 and was an unexpected hit. The initial offering was followed by films, anime series, a trading card game, a manga series, and of course, more games.
Pokémon takes place in a world in which creatures known as Pokémon co-exist with humans. There are more than 1,000 species of Pokémon, some of which may be spotted in Kit Carson Park.
Fans who attend will try to catch as many Pokémon as possible, and enjoy rewards and fun challenges. Virtual PokeStops will be available, and participants will be able to join other trainers in raids and battles.
The San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy has organized the festival. The organization protects and preserves the resources of the valley through various means including habitat restoration, completing trails, and creating interpretive centers. Donations to the conservancy will be gratefully accepted at the event.
The festival is scheduled for July 13, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. For outings like this, the organizers will often turn to poster printing for their local advertising.
