A festival featuring music, fun, and food is coming to Escondido.
The Route 78 Rotary Club is the sponsor of the upcoming 8th Annual Mariachi Festival. The featured artists for the occasion are the Mariachi Champaña Nevin, one of the world’s leading proponents of the style known as “classical mariachi music.” The Ballet Folklórico Tierra Caliente de Jose Jaimes will be performing for the eighth year in a row, and one of Mexico’s most talented sopranos, Monica Abrego, is also on the program.
In addition to the music, the Tacos & Tequila Reception will kick off the fun. Tacos and carnitas will be grilled outdoors in the Sculpture Courtyard of the Center for the Arts Museum, where a unique tequila will be served. A silent auction will follow the feast. Special events such as this give attendees a chance to network and exchange Business Cards.
The festival is set for April 10, with the Tacos & Tequila Reception at 12:30 pm. The Mariachi Concert begins at 3:00 pm in the Concert Hall of the performing arts center. Tickets are $100, which includes the reception. Tickets are $50 just for the show, and the seats are in the Upper Orchestra section. Tickets for the balconies and part of the mezzanine are $25.
The event is a fundraiser supporting leadership opportunities, literacy programs, school materials, and college scholarships for North County youth.
