Like most other businesses, a winery needs to be able to keep track of its finances if it is to achieve success. An Escondido workshop will offer two days of training in accounting that is specific to the winemaking industry, and those who are interested can choose to take one or both courses.
The classes are intended for those who own or manage a winery, as well as anyone who performs accounting duties for one. One of the goals is to give the attendees tools they can use to calculate the actual cost of wine production, and there will be many other topics covered as well.
One the first day, the students will discover how they can utilize QuickBooks, and they will also find out how they can use a variety of methods to calculate the true cost of the wine being produced. The second day will offer an even more in-depth look at the financial side of wine production, including taxation strategies and the difference between the tax cost of wine and the book cost of wine.
The facilitators for these learning opportunities will be Jeanette Tan and Tyler Willis, CPA. Both have extensive experience in the wine making industry. Supplying the learners with workbooks and other manuals upon arrival can help them to make the most from taking classes like these, and Print shops can supply these sorts of bound learning materials and other items.
The Best Western Escondido will be hosting these workshops on June 6 and June 7. Registration for both can be completed online.
