Escondido tunes up for late May concert

A concert series is happening now in Escondido, with another performance on the calendar.

Live at The Centre is a collaboration between The Centre Escondido and Six String Society. The two organizations work together to keep live music available to everyone, and in doing so, they bring some of the best musicians in San Diego to North County, all without charging admission.

The bands and artists for this concert work in several genres. They are The Farmers, Richard Smith, Anthony Cullins, and Ron Houston and the Berry Pickers. The Farmers were previously known as the Beat Farmers, and have build up a reputation throughout San Diego. In 2019, they were named “San Diego’s Best Rock Band.”

Richard Smith, who hails from England, plays the acoustic guitar. A prolific performer, he features at approximately 200 shows annually, including those in which he appears with his music partner, Tommy Emmanuel.

Anthony Cullins is a blues artist who was nominated as “Best Blues Performer” in 2023 at the San Diego Music Awards.

Ron Houston and the Berry Pickers. They bring outlaw country music to San Diego, where they are a favorite. This will be the first North County appearance for Louisiana native Houston and his band.

The concert is on May 25, from 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm, at the Moonlight Veranda at The Centre. When organizers plan events like this, they can use poster printing to create advertising.
