A local charitable group recently hosted a ceremony where it provided grants to eight different organizations in Escondido that help support programs that deal with nature related issues and the environment.
The Escondido Charitable Foundation presented grants totaling $167,860 to various not-for-profits throughout the area. The funding that was bestowed ranged from $10,000 all the way up to $30,000, and will be used to help support programs in parks and area nature preserves.
The awards were given out during the foundation’s Annual Grant celebration, which took place at Classical Academy High School. The Grants Chairperson for the foundation, Ruth Tsoulos, presented the funding to the organizations that had been chosen to receive it.
The programs that were selected range from outdoor educational programs dealing with teaching students about water conservations, to ones on the restoration of local hiking trails and natural habitats. A poster printing company can design and create giant size “novelty Checks” that are ideal for this type of occasion; they are perfect for photos and videos to help commemorate the event.
Some of the money will be used to build El Caballo Park, as well as San Diego’s Save Our Aquatic Resources Program, the Chaparral Passport and Naturalist Program, the I Love a Clean San Diego County’s Clean Canyons For a Clean Coast, Friends of Daley Ranch, and the Escondido Outdoor outreach program.
