Spending time in the natural world can benefit children in a variety of ways, and a workshop that will be held in Escondido will explore how educators can include nature in their daily teaching plans.
The Palomar Family YMCA is offering a workshop that will highlight how a garden can be incorporated into the facilities of a private or public child care setting. The participants will learn how to construct, plant and then look after a simple planting of flowers, fruit or vegetables, and also how they can use it as a tool to help them teach the children who are in their care.
This initiative is being offered by the YMCA as part of its commitment to provide resources and referrals that support those who work in the childcare industry. A Print company can be called upon to supply a variety of learning materials for this type of function.
This workshop, which will give attendees tools and knowledge they can utilize to create a garden program for the children they care for, will be held on February 7, starting at 6:00 pm. The registration fee is $15 each, and it will be taking place at 1050 North Broadway in Escondido. The YMCA’s website contains further details about this event and also the many other supports it offers to local childcare service providers.
