A new city manager has been chosen for Escondido.
Graham Mitchell has been selected for the post. He brings the experience of being a city manager in Framersville for three years , and also in Lemon grove for thirteen years. He was also the assistant city manager of Escondido for three months before he was chosen for his new job.
Mr. Mitchell will be replacing Clay Phillips who plans on retiring from the public service in December.
According to Escondido’s Mayor Sam Abed, he is very pleased that Mr. Mitchell will be filling the position, as he cares a lot about the city and the people who live there. He also noted that he is impressed by his skill, integrity and dedication to his work.
For his part, City Attorney Jeff Epp remarked that the swiftness with which Mr. Mitchell was appointed to his new role with make for a smooth and easy transition. In December, he will officially assume his duties as city manager. A printer will be able to provide him with any printed materials he may need in his new role, such as digital Business Cards, personalized letterhead and other Stationery and more.
Mr. Mitchell is originally from Virginia, and has an educational background in both international relations and public administration. His new salary will be disclosed to the public once his contact has been finalized.
