Residents of Escondido who were looking to add a furry, feathery, or even a scaly friend to their family recently had a chance to adopt an animal at a price that was much lower than usual.
The Escondido branch of the San Diego Humane Society hosted a ‘Black Friday’ event of sorts where the adoption prices were reduced by as much as 75%. Cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, and even birds and small animals such as rabbits and rodents were all looking for places to call home. The adoption blitz lasted for a whole weekend, and according to the society, on the Friday alone, 83 were adopted into loving families.
According to the Human Society, they are mandated to protect animals and rescue them from abuse or neglect. Some also arrive at the shelters when their owners face health, financial or other issues and can no longer look after them. All are welcomed, and the society reports that in this year alone, they will have been able to take care of 20,000 domestic animals and also 12,000 wild animals that were in need of rescue. A Direct Mail printing company can help to get the word out about the pets looking for a place to call home.
