Delicious fun awaits in Escondido

A collaborative dinner will give participants an opportunity to enjoy a true farm-to-table meal, as well as learning more about the way food is grown.

The Summer Night Pop-Up Dinner is a collaboration among Cucina Migrante, Golden Coast Mead, and Terra Madre Gardens. Cucina Migrante holds cooking classes and hosts monthly collaborative dinners and other events. Golden Coast Mead ferments mead, which is a brew made of honey and water.

The Terra Madre Gardens is a small artisan farm run by people who describe themselves as “earth tenders” who want to make the world a better place. They promote healthy eating, healing, and home gardening, and invite people to come to the garden to participate in a workshop, taste their produce, or simply enjoy the garden.

The food will come from the Terra Madre Gardens, and will be prepared by Cucina Migrante chefs, with Golden Coast Mead providing its ware to pair with the courses. The evening starts with a welcome aperitivo, and a flan made of heirloom tomatoes and pesto. The next course is polenta with Italian truffle and mushrooms, and the main course is fresh fish accompanied with a puree of beets and leeks. Dessert is chocolate crumble with local berries, Chantilly cream, and sauteed apricots.

Dinner is scheduled for August 26 at the Terra Madre Gardens on Protea Garden Road in Escondido. Organizers of this type of event can turn to flyer printing to create Menus for the dinner.
