Deadly fun planned in Escondido

An upcoming dinner in Escondido will celebrate autumn, food, and the dead.

JR Organics Farm is the host of a five-course dinner they are calling a “sunset locavore meal.” The dinner will be served outdoors, giving diners a view of the sun setting over the fields. JR Organics Farm covers 100 acres and is being run by the fourth generation of the family.

The source for the produce to be served will be steps away from the table. As well as food, the evening includes cocktails, live music, and a chance to hear from the farmers who grow the food.

In addition to great food, the evening is also a celebration of Dia De Los Muertos, the traditional Mexican Day of the Dead. Included in the ticket is a cocktail or mocktail with fresh garnishes; five seasonal dishes made by chefs using ingredients from the farm, which is chemical free; a chance to speak with the Rodriguez Family and Farmer Joe; live acoustic music; discussions on how to grow organic produce; and access to the Vendor Village.

The dinner takes place November 2, from 4.00 pm until 8.30 pm, giving diners plenty of time to enjoy the elaborate meal. The venue is a field at the JR Organics Farm, 31030 Rodriguez Road in Escondido. Organizers of events like this might consider using flyer printing to create attractive Menus or advertising.
