Escondido’s San Dieguito River Park offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for those who would like to give back to their community, and it will be hosting a day of training for anyone interested.
The park’s Joint Power’s Authority has organized a full day of information and skill building for locals interested in volunteering at the park. The morning will include a Power Point presentation, and will be held at San Diego Archeological Center, and this will be followed by an afternoon session at Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead.
The event is recommended for those who are interested in becoming an educational docent, a trail patroller, or who would like to lend a hand to the rangers in their efforts to rebuild habitat and maintain and build the trail system. As only a limited number of spaces are available, anyone who is interested is advised to register well ahead of time. Lunch will be provided to the attendees. Print shops in the area can supply manuals and other items to use during this type of learning event.
This day of training has been scheduled to take place on March 31 at 12655 Sunset Drive in Escondido. Anyone who would like to register or learn more about the agenda for the day can do so by visiting the Sikes Adobe website.
